I apologize for the off-topic post but I need to make deviled eggs tomorrow for a office luncheon & don't know what goes in w/the yolk to make them good. TIA for your help...Happy Holidays!
If you have any variations on the generic recipe...please let me know!

Vinegar. Can't remember how much--maybe 2 teaspoons? (for a dozen eggs) Mayo. Salt. A little pepper.

Hey Jill...You are talking about something that doesn't have a real recipe. You just add what ever you want to, make them taste good and be nice and creamy. My favorite is to make them like egg salad with olives but I also make them with the mayo and mustard. I like them with any of the following....onion...garlic...celery..olives..pickle relish...Just start mixing and tasting....

Jill honey, you sound like me. However, I can make good deviled eggs. I mash the yolks with a fork, add some pickles (chopped in small pieces) and stir in enough Miracle Whip to make them the right consistency to spoon into the whites. Add some salt to taste. I also add about a tablespoon of the liquid from the pickles. If you can get some homemade pickles, they are the best. Ummmmmm Good! Good luck.

I just mix the egg yolks with Best Foods Sandwhich Spread. Everythings already in it and it's delicious and easy.

I can't really add much to the previous posts except to say that I think the only really key ingredient to devilled eggs, as far as I'm concerned at least, is the paprika. Its just not deviled eggs without it. The other thing is that if its for a party, a really nice and not too hard thing to do is to get a pastry tube with a large star tip and pipe in the yolk mixture instead of just spooning it in. Looks so pretty. Good luck. I'm pretty sure that they'll fly right off the plate at your party. We used to go to this monthly potluck at our church and the first thing to go was always the plate of devilled eggs. Sometimes you had to sneak into the kitchen early to get one.
