Chocolate Candy/Cookies - No Bake!!

5 CUPS CORN FLAKES, CRUSHED (measure after crushing)
1 CUP CHOPPED PECANS
1 CUP CHOPPED DATES
2 OZ. UNSWEETENED BAKER'S OR OTHER CHOCOLATE
1 LB. HERSHEY'S OR NESTLE'S MILK CHOCOLATE
1 t. SALT
(*Note -- I've tried regular chunk, baking chocolate, but it's not near as good as Hershey's or Nestle's Milk Choc. Both the candy bars and choco. chips work well.)

Mix corn flakes, pecans, dates, and salt in a large bowl. Melt chocolate in double boiler or microwave. Pour over corn flake mixture and mix very well, Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed cookie sheets and chill in frig until firm. (If mix is not entirely coated by chocolate, add a little more. Cookies may not seem to want to stick together at the very first, but will when chilled, and after sitting a couple minutes before forming cookies, they will shape much easier - after chocolate hardens slightly. If chocolate hardens before you get all the cookies done, just reheat in microwave for about 30-45 sec.) Makes about 6 dozen.
