Chocolate Crackles

8oz copha (vegetable shortening?)
8oz icing sugar (I think this is confectioners sugar - really fine ground sugar sometimes has a liotle corn (maize) flour mixed in it to make smooth icings?)
1 cup coconut (optional)
3 rounded tablespoons cocoa powder
5 cups rice bubbles (rice breakfast cereal = popped rice? puffed rice?)

Mix dry ingredients, melt copha over gentle heat. Add and mix well.
Spoon into paper patty containers. Set in fridge.
Makes about 3 dozen.
Kids often like them sprinkled with hundreds and thousands.
You can also dress them up with a cherry on top.
I also use the same recipe (add a touch more copha) and add chopped marshmallows and cherries and pour into a lined slab tin, then cut into squares, which I then halve into triangles (looks MUCH classier that way) when I need something quick for an afternoon tea function.)
