Naniamo Bars

1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
5 tbsp cocoa
1 3/4 cup Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 cup fine coconut
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 egg beaten

Bottom layer: Melt first 3 ingredients in double boiler. Add egg and stir to cook and thicken. Remove from heat and stir in crumbs, coconut and walnuts. Press into ungreased 9 inch square pan.

1/2 cup butter
3 tbsp milk
2 tbsp vanilla custard powder
2 cup icing sugar

Middle layer: Cream butter, milk, custard powder, and icing sugar. Beat until light. Spread over bottom layer.

4 squares semi-sweet choc
2tbsp butter

Melt choc and butter over low heat, when cool but still runny, spread over 2nd layer. Chill. To cut into bars warm up a sharp knife and score. Makes 36 squares
