Burnt Creme
1 pint of whipping cream
4 egg yolks
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 T. Vanilla Extract
Granulated sugar for the topping
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Heat cream over low heat until bubbles form
around the edge of the pan. Beat the egg yolks until thick, about 3 minuets.
Gradually beat cream into the egg yolks. Stir in vanilla and pour into 6
6oz custard cups. place the custard cups in baking pan that has about 1/2
inch of water in the bottom. Bake until set, about 45 minuets. Remove
custard cups from the water and refrigerate until chilled. Sprinkle each
custard with about 2 teaspoons of sugar. Place on the top rack under broiler
and cook until topping is medium brown. Chill before serving. Makes 6
servings
