Fresh Peas with Basil

2 tbsp butter or margarine (I prefer butter)
1/2 cup sliced green onion with tops
1 1/2 cups shelled fresh peas (1 1/2 pounds)
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp basil
1 tbsp parsley snipped
1/2 cup water

1. Heat butter in a skillet. Add green onions and cook 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Add peas, sugar, salt, pepper, basil, parsley, and water.
2. Cook, covered, over medium heat 10 minutes, or until peas are tender.

Serves 4

Note: If desired, use 1 package (10 oz) frozen green peas and decrease water to 1/4 cup.
