Subject: Case solved!: Reversed Explorer/dialogue default sort order
Date: August 16, 1998 5:06 PM

For the past few weeks, the UI has been sheer hell as somehow the
Windows default sort order had been reversed and nothing could change
it-- from the sheer obvious to all sorts of tweak-utilities people had
suggested.

So recently I said "to hell with this", backed up my registry, and
looked for a good key to delete

And by sheer luck or just good intuition, I hit the jackpot right away
by *deleting* this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellState

After rebooting everything (explorer, open dialogs, save dialogs) was
back in order and all is well in my personal Windows-land :)

Just thought I'd pass this info along for those still suffering from
this phenomena or in the even anyone becomes hexed with this condition.

Cheers,
