Yes. Let me, however, make a suggestion first.
Personally, I find the changes in the IE4 and Win98 form to be a real
improvement. From about October 1995 I was already unhappy with the default
way the Programs menu worked, and discovered it was just a folder that could
be edited and restructured like any other folder; so I started reorganizing
the folders on it, grouping program icons according to function and
category, so I could find them easier. (Three columns of programs in
alphabetical order never helped when what I wanted to know was, "Where is
that I-forget-what-you-call-it-thing that does so-and-so?" Sorting them by
*function* is what worked best for me. I pretty much never had a subfolder
(a cascading menu) in there that reached more than one column. When people
started complaining about the change in IE4, I hadn't even noticed it.
But what we began doing at that time was suggesting that people structure
their Program menu a little differently, using subfolders as I'd been doing
for two or three years (as had many others).
The change was made so that new functionality could be added that wouldn't
work reliably if the cascading multi-column menus were there. And I want you
to understand that while I can get it back the old way for you, it may cost
you reliable functioning of some of the other built-in Start Menu features.
That being said: To get it back, back up your Registry, then click on the
attached REG file. Start Menu Cascade
