This is a known phenomenon that a lot of people are encountering -- for
which there is an easy fix.
Run TweakUI. (If you don't have a version on your computer, install the new
Win98 version from the Win98 CD.) Look on the My Computer tab. Make sure
that *every* drive letter, A: through Z:, is checked.
