My Top 20+ Sites

How do you come up with the Top 20 places to visit for info about Windows 98? I don't know if there will be 20 sites here or if that will grow to twice that many. (Oh, Oh, I guess it already has <G>). In addition to these links some of my other "favorites" are listed in the On-Line Assistance section. The Good House Keeping Page A great site for  ways to clean and maintain your system. The Good Housekeeping Page  is a page from Shep's Place. Purposely created without  frames to make viewing and navigating easy this  homepage will give you links to a large number of freeware programs. The site is well worth the look and listen!

PCForrest Peter Forrest's Homepage updated and filled with reviews, great tweaking tips and suggestions for Windows 95/98 as well as a great section on Tweakui.

BootDisk.com need to make a bootdisk? Check this site out for great info about bootdisks and more. You can download the files and extract them onto a floppy. Very Neat.

BootDisk Project - the place to look for hard to find bootdisks. A complete section from MS-DOS 3 through to MS-DOS 8 as well as NT and Windows 2000 versions. IBM PC-DOS , Novell , DR-DOS and Linux disks are also available

"James Liles Home Page" I'm glad he's back. Take this link to James Liles site for excellent information about Windows 98. James site is free of frames and unnecessary clutter which makes navigating it a breeze!

The Trouble With Windows 98 - Great new site that also has sections for Windows 2000 and Windows Me. 

A Troubleshooting Guide to Windows 98\ME - Another top site for learning how to tweak, fix and maintain your Windows 98 system. This is an excellent resource maintained and authored by some of Microsoft's MVPs

The Free Windows Help Pages - superb information on troubleshooting. 

"AXEL216's MAX SPEEED" - Windows DOS Tricks Secrets Bug Fixes ETC. These sites just seem to be getting better and better! check the newest addition to My Top 10+ out. I've placed a link here under my Tweakui For 98 page too.

"Bomber's HomePage" - this is a new addition put together by Keith Harris. It  has some great information for the new user and I definitely think it is worth a look. Keith mentioned that he programmed this site in HTML.

"InfiniSource" InfiniSource is one of the Web's top locations for essential Internet Resources. Windows information, updates, technical how-to files, and a vast array of tips and tricks, support BBS where you can post your questions and quickly get answers from the experts on any Windows-related matter.

"SysOpt.com" The system optimization PC hardware and performance guide. This online magazine has great information on issues  like overclocking, building your own PC, and tips on upgrading.

"Jon Hildrums Contribution" Take this link to some very useful and practical information about managing both software and hardware installations. Tips include adding New Hard Drives, working with Modems, Reinstalling your Windows95/98 Operating System and even a section on installing a new Motherboard!

"Windows OS Central" I misplaced my link to this site and just found it again! This is a super place to visit to read up on all aspects of Windows 98/Me/2000/XP

"IE Info Site" this is the way that I would like to build a help site if I had the expertise and the time. Great info about allversions of IE. For awhile it was down but I'm glad to see it up and running again. IE4 Tweakin' Tool can be downloaded from this site as well as the other link I have to it.

"Bob Cerelli's Windows 95 and 98 Page" This is a well maintained site with a wealth of information about Win 98 and links to a lot of software downloads.

"Windows Annoyances" Windows 98 Annoyances is the most complete collection of information assembled for and by actual users of Windows 98. If you can't find what you are looking for here it is likely the question has not been asked yet!

"PH Net - PC Performance Source" These system optimization pages contain tips and tweaks on optimizing your system's performance. Very useful reading if you like keeping your system running at peak performance.

"Windows98.org" Really a nicely put together site of information, tips, and resources relating to Windows 95/98 and Internet Explorer

"Active Windows" This site   is updated daily and has loads of info about new developments. There is an excellent section of Bugs &  Fixes for a variety of MS software applications!

"Internet Explorer Powertips Homepage "- created by tcc2000, this is the beginning of good things to come I believe. The author has provided some solid information about using both IE5 and OLE5

"Pure Performance.Com"   Another excellent site with a multitude of tips and tweaks for Windows 9x. This site gives a rating on difficulty, level of expertise needed and time it may take to complete. Very helpful to newer people like me, who likes to tweak and manage their   system

"Serenity Macros" A great site dedicated to MS Word with macros, tips, registry hacks and more. the site is filled with graphics and clearly written instructions.

"WinFiles.com" Take this link to the WinFiles.com FAQ page to find out about this super site. If you are looking for answers to common problems, trying find drivers, looking for bug fixes and more this site has it all (well a lot anyway).
