Grandmas' Maple Icing
3 Tablespoons butter
6 Tablespoons cream (I use canned evaporated milk~like Milnot)
9 Tablespoons sugar
Maple Extract
Powdered Sugar
Black Walnuts (optional)
Mix together first 3 ingredients & bring to a boil. When cool, add enough
powdered sugar to make it the consistency of thin icing, & maple extract to
taste. (usually 1 or 2 teaspoons) May want to use a mixer to blend. This is a
very rich tasting icing & goes well on spice cakes. Best if black walnuts
are added on top.
