Simple Sooner Spud Soup

2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
1 onion, chopped
1 can cream of chicken soup
1, 2 pound (about) package hash brown potatoes, thawed*
4 cups skim milk**
salt and pepper to taste
parsley

Sauté onion in the butter. Add remaining ingredients. Cook until potatoes are tender.

for thinner soup, use 6 cups milk
