Rumer passed on at 11:45 a.m. today; she had been in the Special Care Unit since Sunday and was on a ventilator due to the pneumnia....However, the doctors found cancer in her good lung, another mass in her bad lung and her kidneys began to fail; Curt was told yesterday that there was no hope. They had living wills; she did not want to be kept alive and her wishes were honored by her family.

Sunday 1-3 (services right afterward)
There will be no graveside service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the American Heart Assoc., the American Lung Assoc. or AdoptaPlatoon.
Rumer was a wonderful, caring lady and I love her with all of my heart; I know she would not want you all to grieve for her; Instead, look upward and give a wave. Thank you all so much for your concern for our friend; I will make sure that her husband receives all of the well wishes that you've sent her way.

Lord, it's is so hard to be thankful when one of your friends has been taken home. I know I should be. She is in a better place and with you. I ask that you send your loving peace to her family and Husband Lord. Grace her loved ones and friends with sweet memories of this dear woman. I know she was loved by a lot of people Lord and a lot of people are going to miss her so much. Give us peace in our hearts and help us to know she is at rest now and healthy and happy! Thank you Lord for giving us Rumer and thank you that she is with you!

Ohhhh, I'm just at a loss for words. She was such a dear special lady. I'm sure that her dear Soldiers will never forget her, or how she touched their lives. Please give my deepest sympathy to Curt and her family Fran. I'm so sorry for you too!!

On one hand this breaks my heart,on the other I am rejoicing for she is receiving her final reward ,and she sure should have a BIG one stored up in Heaven!!!! Several folks from here had met her several yrs. ago in person.She was the most genuine,loving, caring person you could want to meet.She loved people and especially her soldiers.She had told me awhile back when all this was over she wanted us to get-together again.I will miss her dearly ,but I know one day I will see her lovely smiling face again,over where the pain, the disease,and sickness can't touch her ever again.I love you Rumer, you were one SPECIAL LADY.I will NEVER forget you.Hugs and

This is so heart breaking, Rumer was such a special special person!!! I will truly miss her morning greeting and her joy of talking about her adventures with adopataploon!

When I read the title of the post, I thought, NO! NO!NO! I thought , perhaps, I was misreading it! Now, I know that I wasn't! In my short time at the TH, I have read her posts and prayed along with everyone else through her surgery. Fran, again, thank you for keeping us posted. To Rumers family, I send my deepest regrets.

Since I found out that Rumer was ill I had been e-mailing her and she always replied in an up-beat manner, full of strength and humour!

Rumor was so dear to my heart. Everyday I would look forward to her special Good Mornings and what is your weather like where you live. Even though my heart is breaking, I can see Rumor up there in heaven hugging her special soldier boys, as they find that special place of peace!
